HISTORY
Our Story
IIRM is a non-profit organisation based in North Lakhimpur which is in Lakhimpur District of the North-East Indian state of Assam. Founded in 2000, it aims to enhance the quality of life through self-reliance and sustainable programs in Northeast India. Registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, IIRM focuses on providing livelihood training to rural and urban poor individuals in the Himalayan region. IIRM’s programs include community development with emphasis on agriculture and livestock management, health and hygiene, gender management, research, training, and consultancy.
Lack of skills leads to poverty and inequality; therefore, skill development is crucial in reducing unemployment, increasing productivity, and improving living standards.
